Whether they win or lose ball games, Rio Hondo Prep has a history of high dramatics.
And Tuesday was no different.
Trailing 5-1 to visiting Chadwick in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Kares scored five runs in the fifth and four more in the sixth to claim a 10-6 victory.
With one game to play in the 2022 regular season, RHP is tied for second place with Poly.
The Panthers got a no-hitter from Adam Arther in a 5-0 victory at Providence.
Ryan McCulloch had a monster game for RHP.
McCulloch doubled, hit a grand slam and drove in seven runs.
Gio Ortega walked, singled twice, drove in two and scored a pair of runs.
Jonathan Guerrero walked twice, singled and drove in a run.
Raymond Montez walked, singled and scored twice.
Damyan Diaz walked, singled and scored.
Paul Alena singled twice and scored a pair of runs.
Calvin Johnson walked, singled and scored twice.
Bennett Underwood went three innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits.
Underwood walked two and struck out one.
Raymond Montez went four innings for RHP and surrendered three runs (two earned) on five hits.
Montez walked three and fanned a pair of Chadwick batters.
Up next: RHP will travel to fourth-place Chadwick on Friday in the final game of the regular season.
And Poly hosts last-place Providence.
