Swimming:

Ella Lesnever is just a junior.

And yet the Blair High School star is already one of the most decorated swimmers in Pasadena city history.

Last week at the CIF-SS Division 4 finals at Mt. SAC, Lesnever won two more CIF titles.

That gives her four during the first three years of her high school career.

It also ties Lesnever with Dick Lyons, who had four of his own.

And his record stayed solo for 84 years.

It goes without saying that Lesnever is a favorite to win at least one more individual title before her prep career is over in the spring of 2025.

She secured individual championships in the 50-and-100-yard freestyle events.

If that weren’t enough, she set new personal best times in both events, and Lesnever smashed the meet record that had stood for the past 15 years in the 100.

In the 50, she bested Fontana’s Brooklyn Green.

Lesnever finished at 23.17, and Green completed the race at 24.66.

In the 100-yard freestyle, she dominated the field.

Lesnever (50.25) finished over three seconds faster than Kanna Lu (53.47).

Up next: The Blair junior heads to Fresno for the state finals at Clovis West High School this Friday and Saturday.

Lesnever is ranked fifth in the state for both events.

Good luck, Ella!
