Eddie Rocha & Reece Harney Combine to Allow One Earned Run in Citrus’ 6-2 Western State South Division Victory Over West LA

It’s been an up-and-down season for the Citrus baseball program.

However, the Owls could finish as high as third in the Western State Athletic Conference’s South Division.

They took a step in that direction on Tuesday, with a 6-2 victory over West LA.

Eddie Rocha went five innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits.

Rocha didn’t give a free pass and struck out one WLA batter.

Reece Harney was credited with the win after going four scoreless innings and surrendering just a pair of hits.

Harney didn’t issue a walk and registered five strikeouts.

Hunter Beckstrom went 3-for-3 with a solo HR.

Jaxon Bernard singled twice and scored.

Michael Hernandez doubled, and Jorge Zermeno had one single to account for the rest of the SBVC offense.

Hernandez went the distance, and he was charged with six runs (four earned) on 10 hits.

Hernandez walked two and fanned a pair of Owls.

Luke Willison went 2-for-4 with a run, and his RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning gave Citrus its first lead of the game at 3-2.

Derek Leader walked, doubled and scored.

Dustin Yela singled twice.

Nathan Hellein and Jordan Quintero singled and scored one run apiece.

Joshua Cortinas walked, scored, had an RBI single and an RBI ground out.

Roman Huizar had an RBI single in a two-run eighth inning.

Chase Bernal singled and Danyal Jenkins scored.

Up next: The Owls travel to West LA on Thursday at 2.
