Quotable:
PHS coach, Chris Rucker: “This season has been a lot of learning as far as my first year being a head coach. A lot of battles off the field have kept me on my toes. We did lose our field after the Eaton Fire. That didn’t stop us, we got back on the field and got to work as soon as we could. My assistants are amazing, and they have put in more work than I could ever think of. We have seen games that could go either way, and in some cases, we just miss those games by one hit. Fortunately for us, we are still in the mix for a playoff spot and could make a big run. We are very excited about our future at PHS. We do lose quality seniors, which are a big part of our team, but knowing what I have coming back, I believe we will get even better in every aspect of the game. Now that the players know what to expect from this coaching staff, it makes it easier to incorporate more things to make us better.
Pasadena pitcher, Reese Kim: “I think that the season is going very well for all that our team has been through. We have faced a lot of challenges, such as losing months of practice to the fires, as well as losing our home field. But we are managing to push through and looking to go make a run to the playoffs. We have a lot of passion for what we do, and we want to take it far this year. Our program does carry a lot of seniors who we will unfortunately lose, but I still believe we will be competitive next season. We have a lot of young talent, especially in our junior class that will help us carry on into the next season.”
