College Baseball:
Mt. SAC finished a historic regular season with 35 wins after its 11-3 SCC victory at Long Beach.
The South Coast Conference champs will take a 10-game win streak into the postseason.
MSAC scored at least one run off six of Long Beach’s seven pitchers.
And to be fair, the only Vikings’ hurler that didn’t surrender a run went 1/3 of an inning.
Max Ghiglieri was charged with three runs (two earned) on two hit batters and one base hit over one-plus inning of work.
In a rarity, Mt. SAC didn’t collect a single extra-base hit.
Bryan Bradshaw went 2-for-4 with a walk, three runs and a pair of RBIs.
Landon White finished his record offensive year with 92 hits.
White went 2-for-5, including an RBI single.
Ty Thomas walked, scored and totaled two RBIs on fielder’s choice ground balls.
Tyler Stull drew a pair of walks, and had an RBI single in the fourth to extend the Mounties lead to 6-2.
Terrell Jackson singled and scored.
Diego Ortiz walked and scored.
Cole Nachreiner went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks, one run and two RBIs.
Noah Rodriguez drew two walks, singled twice and scored three times.
Brenden Menchaca got the win after going six innings and allowing two runs on six hits.
Menchaca walked one and fanned four LBCC batters.
Jaden Mackowiak, Dom Versluis and Ethan Corral each provided one inning in relief.
Ghiglieri went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Caleb Brandon singled and scored.
Danny Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with a run and one RBI.
Eduardo Diaz singled twice.
