Aaron Jacobsen Tosses 2-Hit Shutout, Strikes Out 9 & Goes 3-for-4 at Plate w/2 Doubles & 2 RBIs in GHS’ 10-0 Victory Over Silverado

Aaron Jacobsen had his fingerprints all over Tuesday’s 10-0 victory over their visitors from Silverado.

The Glendora senior tossed a two-hit shutout.

He didn’t issue a walk and registered nine strikeouts.

Although Van Halen was way before his time, Jacobsen needed 84 pitches to ‘finish what he started.’

AJ threw 73-percentage of his pitches for strikes.

Uriel Martin and Carlitos Ochoa had one single apiece to account for the Silverado offense.

Steven Gomez got the loss after surrendering five runs on two hits over two innings of work.

Gomez walked two and fanned a pair of Tartans.

Nico Padilla went three innings, and he allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits over three innings.

Padilla didn’t issue a base on balls, and he struck out five.

Finally, Jack Weiss got roughed up for three runs (two earned) on three hits in the sixth innings.

Weiss walked a pair and fanned three.

At the plate, Jacobsen went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two runs and a pair of RBIs.

One game after a walk-off double, Aidan Yamazaki had an RBI triple and tripled, scored twice.

Gregory Papik singled and scored.

Kai Zeits walked and scored.

Tanner Grable had an RBI single and scored.

Sebastian Lawrence went 2-for-3 with an RBI single and one run.

Diego Garza and Tyler Olbert had one single apiece.

John Seader scored once for GHS.

Troy Norman drew a bases loaded walk.

Santiago Garza had an RBI ground out and scored.

Up next: The Tartans host Flintridge Prep on Thursday at 3:30 before opening a huge three-game set with Bonita on Tuesday at BHS.

The Bearcats are 8-1 in Palomares League play, and they’re currently one-game back of first place Ayala.
