Maranatha opened Santa Maria Tournament play with an 8-2 victory over Lompoc.

The Minutemen out-hit the Braves, 14-1.

MHS has won 10 consecutive games.

Zach Strickland was nothing short of awesome.

Strickland went six scoreless and hitless innings.

He issued one walk and registered 14 strikeouts.

Strickland threw 77 pitches and 60 were strikes.

Bradley Loiacono was charged with two runs on one hit over one inning.

Loiacono walked one and struck out one.

Ronnie Munoz doubled in a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Blake Bailey walked and scored.

Jack Jones was saddled with the loss after surrendering seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits over 5 1/3 innings.

Jones walked a pair and struck out seven MHS batters.

Josh Proctor went 3-for-4, including a pair of RBI singles, a two-run HR, and he scored twice.

Trevor Rivas singled twice and scored.

Yahir Treto went 4-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.
