Baseball:
Los Osos didn’t forget who knocked them out of the Baseline League penthouse in 2024.
The Grizzlies lost games two and three of their series with Chino Hills last season in the final week of the regular season.
And it cost them a Baseline League title.
In 2025, LOHS opened with those same Huskies.
The Grizzlies defeated CHHS by scores of 3-2, 17-0 and 3-1 on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.
Gavin Loeb-Keene went five strong, allowing one run on five hits.
He walked one and struck out four.
Wyatt Mohler provided two scoreless innings in relief to earn the save.
Mohler allowed two hits, didn’t issue a walk and struck out one CHHS batter.
Jacob Jimenez singled, tripled and scored.
Jackson Aguayo went 3-for-3, including a triple.
Branden Kim had an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth at LoanMart Field to pull the Huskies to within 2-1 of the Grizzlies.
Brody Buoncristiani singled once for Chino Hills.
Aydan Maxson got the loss after surrendering two runs on four hits over 5 1/3 innings.
Maxson walked sixed and fanned a pair of LOHS batters.
Matt McCliman went 1 2/3 innings, and he was charged with one run on two hits.
McCliman issued one walk and registered one strikeout.
Wyatt Mohler went 2-for-3 and scored.
Reagan Samples walked, and his RBI single in the top of the second gave Los Osos a 1-0 lead.
Hunter Meyer went 1-for-3 with a walk, one run and his RBI single in the seventh extended the Grizzlies lead to 3-1.
Evan Jones walked, singled and doubled.
Roberto Topete drew a pair of walks.
Josh Chairez walked and scored.
