Girls Athlete of the Week:
The San Dimas girls’ volleyball program has gotten off to a solid start to the 2024 season.
After two weeks of action, the Saints have won seven of their 10 matches.
This past week, SDHS had two wins against a pair of solid programs.
On Tuesday, San Dimas swept their rivals and visitors from Bonita.
They defeated the Bearcats by scores of 25-13, 25-17 and 25-15.
Two days later, the Saints claimed a four-set victory over Claremont.
The scores were 25-16, 29-31, 25-15 and 25-23.
The win over Claremont had to be satisfying after suffering a sweep at the hands of the Wolfpack in 2023.
Jayden Hanson, who serves as an SDHS outside hitter, has been both really good and consistent.
She leads the program in kills and assists and is described as the pace setter for the San Dimas energy level.
Hanson is back with something to prove after suffering an injury just after league play got underway last year.
In this week’s victories over BHS and CHS, Hanson contributed a total of 18 kills, six blocks, six aces and 35 assists.
