Girls Athlete of the Week:
March was a good month for the Bonita softball program.
The Bearcats have won eight consecutive games, and 13 of their last 14.
BHS (7-1) is just one-half a game back of Palomares League leading Ayala (7-0).
This past week, Bonita edged Bishop Amat, 6-5, on Wednesday, and they secured a 5-0 Palomares League victory at Claremont.
In those two wins, BHS freshman Koa Puppe certainly did her part.
Puppe went 4-for-6, with two doubles.
Koa drew a pair of walks and drove in two runs.
She also earned the win against Bishop Amat in the circle.
Puppe went four innings, and she allowed two runs on three hits.
Puppe issued one walk and fanned three Lancers’ batters.
