Softball:
Glendora took sole possession of second place in the Palomares League Standings.
The Tartans got a thoroughly dominating effort in the circle from Bridget Nemeth in a 4-0 victory over visiting Claremont.
Nemeth threw a three-hit shutout, didn’t walk anyone and struck out 16 CHS batters.
She needed 103 pitches to close out the win.
Madyson Clark, Spencer Ventura and Milla Sanchez had one single apiece to account for the Wolfpack offense.
Meghan Mason got the loss after allowing four runs on four hits over her 4 2/3 innings.
Mason walked one and fanned three GHS batters.
Kacie Gossett provided a perfect 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, including one strikeout.
Makenna Coleman had two of the four GHS hits on Tuesday.
Coleman singled, doubled and drove in two runs.
Ryan Speh doubled and had two RBIs.
Haley Ganino walked and scored, and made a solid diving catch in the outfield.
Nemeth helped her own cause with a single and run scored.
Up next: Claremont and GHS will both host Palomares League games on Thursday.
The Wolfpack have Colony, while GHS welcomes Alta Loma.
