Girls Athlete of the Week:
Claremont senior Goldie La is nearing the end of her remarkable prep career.
The CHS No. 1 singles player recently led the program to both a Palomares League team championship and she claimed the individual league title by defeating her sister, Sydney La, by scores of 6-2, and 6-1.
In the first round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs, La won two of her three matches in a 10-8 victory over Portola.
Two days later, the Claremont season would end after a 13-5 loss at ML King in Riverside.
Goldie La would go 2-1 in her final team match representing the Wolfpack.
La will leave a huge hole in the Claremont lineup next season, but expect her soon-to-be junior sister, Sydney La, to take over when the fall season begins in approximately three months.
