Glendora Bats Pound Colony Pitching in 15-4 Palomares League Road Victory

Baseball:

Glendora did what they were supposed to do on Wednesday.

They beat up on Colony pitching for a 15-4 victory, and remain just one-game back of second-place Claremont.

Nathan Valdivia went four innings and allowed 13 runs (seven earned) on 10 hits over four innings to get the loss.

Johnnie Valdez has really added a spark to the Tartans since joining the program after the 30-day wait period for transfers.

He struck out 10 last Friday at Alta Loma, and today, Valdez went 3-for-5, with a single, double, triple, two runs scored and a pair of RBIs.

Matt Gonzales walked, singled, doubled, drove in three runs and scored twice.

Shane Mion singled, tripled and drove in three runs.

AJ Salazar walked, doubled, scored two runs and drove in one.

Braydon Wooldridge walked and scored two runs, and Carson Collett scored and had an RBI.

Jeff Isenhart not only got the win on the mound, the Tartans’ senior went 3-for-4, scoring once and driving in four runs.

Matthew Moreno singled twice and scored, Tanner West singled and scored, and Joe Gilkeson doubled and scored two runs in the win.

Isenhart went the first five innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits.

He walked five and struck out six.

Troy Estrada and Matt Gonzales both went one scoreless inning of relief for the Tartans.

Up next: Glendora will host the last-place Titans on Friday at 3:30.
