Monrovia won its sixth consecutive game on Friday afternoon.
The Wildcats got five scoreless innings from Chantz Powers and went on to defeat Temple City, 2-0, in a Rio Hondo League showdown.
Powers allowed three hits, didn’t walk a batter and struck out seven to improve his personal record to 3-1.
Steven Escarcega went two more scoreless to secure the save.
Nathan Thompson tripled and scored.
Matthew Delgado and Jack Zinn both had RBI singles.
Anthony Chiovare singled and Sebastian Sanchez had a bunt single and scored in Friday’s win.
Up next: The Wildcats will host St. Margaret’s of San Juan Capistrano on Tyesday.
