Softball:
The Etiwanda victory tour continued on Tuesday at Upland.
The Eagles pounded out a 12-6 victory at UHS.
EHS extended its current win streak to 18 games, and they have lost since Feb. 21.
UHS had to know it wasn’t their day when the first two EHS batters homered.
Davanie Cardenas got roughed up for 12 runs (nine earned) on 11 hits over seven innings.
Cardenas walked seven, hit three batters and struck out three.
Dailynn Battee drew a pair of walks, doubled, homered, scored twice and drove in two.
Karrington Bennett walked, twice, hit a solo home run and scored a pair of runs.
Sophia Villalobos went 2-for-4 with two runs and four RBIs, including a three-run HR.
Amani McField drew a pair of walks, was hit by pitch, singled, scored twice and drove in one.
Mia Diaz went 2-for-4 with a walk, double and two RBIs.
Justyne Zabala singled twice, scored and had one RBI.
Gisselle Peraza singled and scored.
Mya Coleman got the win after going five innings and allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits.
Coleman didn’t issue a walk and registered five strikeouts.
Amaya Contreras hit three solo home runs from the leadoff spot.
Bailey Butler hit a solo home run.
Jayla Ruiz and Ziyanah Benavidez singled and scored one run apiece.
Samantha Herrera and Logan Bester had one single apiece for the girls in green.
Up next: Etiwanda and Upland will both be in action on Thursday.
The Eagles will host Los Osos and the Highlanders travel to second-place Chino Hills.
