Football:
Bonita entered its week-four showdown against visiting Schurr with a high likelihood of success.
So, with a number of injuries and a bye next week, Coach Steve Bogan rested a number of his players and the Bearcats never missed a beat.
Bonita scored the first 35 points of the game, and they cruised to a 35-6 victory.
With just north of three minutes to play in the first quarter, Carter Mann reeled in an Evan Robbins pass and 74 yards later, the Bearcats led 7-0.
Sebastian Vasquez scored the first of two TDs with an 80-yard touchdown run.
In the second half, Omari Sullivan brought a Schurr punt back 40 yards for a 21-0 lead.
Vasquez stretched the BHS advantage to 28-0 with his 14-yard TD run.
Isaiah Lazarus capped the Bonita scoring with a 61-yard scoop-and-score TD that was set up by Jonathan Morales, who punched the ball out of the Kaiser player’s hands.
Up next: The Bearcats have a week-five bye, and they’ll open Sierra League play on October 1st, when they host Colony.
