Volleyball:
For the second consecutive weekend, the Marshall volleyball program won a tournament.
Last week, the Eagles secured the Montclair Classic.
And on Saturday, Marshall cruised to a Sierra Vista Tournament championship.
Saturday’s pool play matches had a little extra motivation, as the Eagles faced both Larchmont, who had great athletes.
Perhaps none meant more to the ladies from Pasadena than beating their former coach who is now at Duarte.
According to Marshall coach Fred Nash, “The girls had a chip on their shoulders and it showed throughout the tournament.”

Marshall coach, Fred Nash: “Our finals match was a juggernaut, as both teams battled. Rowland had us on the ropes in set one with a two-point lead, but senior OH Livsey Teems put it away with the winning kill. Set two left off where set one ended with back and forth battles and long rallies. Our senior setter, Ashley Dominguez, ended the game with an amazing ace to finish off Rowland. Giving the Eagles a 6-0 finish. We had an undefeated run through the gold bracket and we made history for the school by winning two consecutive tournament championships.”
