Football:
Two weeks into the 2026 season and Bonita has defeated Muir and Diamond Ranch by a combined margin of 68-6.
After a 20-6 victory in week zero over the visiting Mustangs, the Bearcats traveled to Diamond Ranch.
Several SGV area football fans told this reporter that BHS would put the game away in the first quarter.
And they weren’t lying.
Bonita scored 34 points in the first 12 minutes, and they cruised to a 48-0 victory over the Panthers.
No one had incredible stats because four-time CIF-SS champion Steve Bogan rightfully took the starters out early so as to show some class and not run the score up on DRHS.
Evan Robbins completed 11-of-14 for 151 yards and no picks.
Robbins connected with Matt Milazzo and Carter Mann on TD passes of 48 and 24 yards, respectively.
Austin Lippert the younger brother of former BHS quarterback Travis Lippert got some action and tossed a 2-yard TD pass to Kieron Maust.
Sebastian Vasquez gained a game-high 93 yards on six carries, including a 9-yard TD run in the first quarter.
Joseph Lara only got three carries for 24 yards, but one of the three was a 2-yard TD run.
Issac Herrera collected 38 yards rushing on five carries and one score.
Milazzo (3-for-65) and Mann (3-for-46) combined to catch six passes for 111 yards and one TD apiece.
Matt Mijares picked a pass and brought it back 34 yards for a TD.
Jaedyn Lamb and Vasquez led the BHS defense with four tackles apiece.
Up next: The Bearcats travel to Anaheim next Friday to take on Western.
The Pioneers (0-2) have been outscore, 97-34, in their first two games of 2026.
