Muniz Went Eight Innings, Allowing One Run & Striking Out Five in Mt. SAC’s 11-1 SCC Victory at PCC; Stull Hit Two-Run HR

College Baseball:

Mt. SAC made another step towards and outright South Coast Conference championship on Tuesday.

The Mounties cruised to an 11-1 victory over Pasadena City College at Brookside Park.

With five conference games to play, MSAC enjoys a three-game lead over second place Cerritos.

The Mounties had a 13-7 advantage in base hits, including a 4-0 edge in extra-base hits.

Izeah Muniz improved his personal record to 9-1 after going eight innings and allowing one run on seven hits.

Muniz didn’t issue a walk and registered five strikeouts.

Jeremiah Sibrian got the final three outs for the Mounties.

Devon Eskridge went 2-for-3 with a walk, and his RBI single in the bottom of the sixth pulled PCC to within 6-1 of Mt. SAC.

Bryan Richman singled and scored.

Tyler Garcia, Joaquin Salcedo, Adrian Roman and Devin Munoz had one single apiece for the Lancers.

Isaac Ton was charged with six runs (four earned) on seven hits over six innings.

Ton waked two and fanned one Mountie.

Sergio Robles went 1 2/3 innings, and he allowed four runs n three hits and a pair of walks.

Tyler Stull continues to mash.

Stull went 3-for-5 with three runs, a double and a two-run HR.

In the last two games alone, Stull is 9-for-12 with eight runs, three doubles, four home runs and nine RBIs.

Bryan Bradshaw walked, had an RBI single and doubled.

Ty Thomas walked, singled twice and scored a pair of runs.

Diego Ortiz went 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI.

Diego Villa had a two-run double in the eighth inning and scored.

Noah Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a walk, run and one RBI.

Cole Nachreiner walked and scored.

Miguel Perez went 1-for-4 with a run and one RBI.

Up next: The Lancers will travel to Walnut on Thursday at 2 for the second of three games with the Mounties.
