Baseball:
For the first time in 11 Palomares League games, Ayala actually got challenged.
Before Thursday, the Bulldogs closest league contest was a 7-1 victory over Glendora on March 18th.
Fast forward 37 days and Ayala was locked in a 3-3 tie in the top of the seventh inning at Claremont.
Jaden Valenzuela singled and four batters later, Easton Sarmiento drew a bases loaded walk to score Valenzuela with what turned out to be the game wining run.
With four league games to play, AHS is now 11-0, which is one-game ahead of Bonita, who they meet up with next week.
Thomas Plotkin went 6 2/3 innings, and he was charged with four runs (one earned) on eight hits.
Plotkin issued five walks and struck out two.
Valenzuela went 2-for-3 with a walk, run and two RBIs.
Jonah Boyd walked and had a pair of singles.
Caleb Trugman doubled and scored.
Brody Gomez walked, singled and scored.
Codey Brown walked and singled.
Dylan Wood singled, Elijah Duarte scored, and Eric Hernandez had an RBI ground out.
Sarmiento went four innings, and he allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits.
Sarmiento walked four and fanned four CHS batters.
Isaac Huver got the win after providing three scoreless and hitless innings in relief.
Huver issued one walk and registered two strikeouts.
Ramzey Farah went 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI.
Wyatt Green singled and scored.
Aaron Banfield went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Cory Smykla and Plotkin walked and scored one run apiece.
