College Baseball:
Mt. SAC earned its 34th win of the 2025 season on Thursday.
The Mounties secured a 5-2 SCC victory over their visitors from Long Beach City College.
Only Santa Rosa (37-1) has more wins in the state of California.
Hudson Castillo went seven innings, allowing two runs on seven hits to earn the win.
Castillo (9-1) issued a pair of walks and registered six strikeouts.
Joey Peralta went one scoreless inning, and he surrendered a pair of hits.
Peralta didn’t issue a walk and registered one strikeout.
Sam Silversmith got the final three outs including two via strikeout to earn the save.
Myles Fendrick had an RBI double.
Max Ghiglieri walked, singled and scored.
Aaron Mingo went 2-for-4.
Eshua Desai singled and scored.
Logan Thurman had an RBI ground out.
Danny Rodriguez, Ryan Lopetegui, Caleb Brown and Eduardo Diaz had one single apiece for the Vikings.
Lopetegui got the loss after surrendering four runs (three earned) on seven hits over 3 2/3 innings.
Lopetegui didn’t give a free pass and struck out one MSAC batter.
Thomas Adair provided 4 1/3 innings in relief, and he was charged with one run on two hits.
Adair struck out a pair of Mounties.
Ty Thomas had a pair of doubles and one RBI.
Landon White singled and had a two-run double in the fourth inning.
Bryan Bradshaw went 1-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.
Tyler Stull singled and scored.
Noah Rodriguez singled twice and scored.
Cole Nachreiner drove in a run on a sac fly.
Diego Ortiz singled and Jackson Giacone scored in Thursday’s win.
