Glendora hopes to earn the Palomares League’s No. 2 seed.
And Thursday’s 6-0 victory over Diamond Bar certainly helped that cause.
Gianna Messick tossed a four-hit shutout.
Messick walked four and struck out nine DBHS batters.
Messick needed 126 pitches to finish what she started, and 77 were strikes.
Offensively, Kennedy Bowers hit a solo HR.
Morgan Gonzalez drew a pair of walks, singled and scored.
Ryan Torres went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
Kylie Coleman walked, singled twice, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
Elizabeth Dominguez walked, singled and scored.
Ayva Cabuena’s RBI single in the bottom of the sixth drove in the Tartans sixth and final run of Thursday’s game.
