San Dimas dominated the field of 16, but West Covina’s Noah Amezcua (JR) takes the top spot and league MVP in the 36-hole Valle Vista League finals.
Amezcua shot rounds of 78 and 79.
Braden Distelrath (San Dimas senior) and Ryan Moris (San Dimas sophomore) secured second and third place.
The fourth CIF-SS qualifier had to be determined in a playoff between a pair of SDHS competitors, Isaiah Noller and Jacob Thai.
After three playoff holes, Noller and Thai were still tied.
Finally, in a sudden death closest to the pin shot from 100 yards, Noller earned the final qualifying spot and will represent the Saints at the Central Area Regionals May 8.
Of the top 6 finishers, five were from back-to-back league champion San Dimas, who will compete in the CIF-SS Division 5 Team tournament later next month.
