Quotable:

Bonita pitcher, Camden Farina: “The nerves were there going in, but I talked to Coach Marcos and he calmed me down before the game. Scoring twice in the first inning gave me some relief, and their dugout got more quiet. I felt like my cutter and curve were both effective today. When it got to the fifth inning, I really thought that I wanted to make sure I finished this game and make a statement. Diego Vazquez’s defense was lights out, making play after play. Colton really stepped up with his bat. I’ve never seen him hit so well. My catcher, Diego Villa, really worked on having a connection, and it’s really paid off, because I am very comfortable with him behind the plate.”

Bonita senior, Colton Perez: “I had a lot of confidence going into the game, and I had a good week in the cage. And I was seeing the ball really well today. I was most pleased that we came out with a different kind of energy today and we went out and fought for each other. We had a lot of fun out there today. I love Cam, and when he struck out the side in the top of the first inning, he really got us going. He just goes out there and goes right at people. He knows we have his back, and we always tell him to just be himself.”
