Football:
For the first time in school history, Glendora finished the regular season with a perfect 10-0 mark.
The Tartans cruised past winless South Hills, 38-0, in a game that Braydon Brus didn’t play in, and the entire second half was played with a running clock.
Jake Denerson had a big night, going 10-of-14 for 154 yards and three scores.
Denerson hit Reggie Johnson on a 33-yard scoring strike to open the floodgates.
Denerson and Trey Byrd hooked up for a 9-yard TD and Jojo Najarro took a Denerson pass for a 20-yard score.
One of Najarro’s three receptions came from his younger brother, Eric Najarro.
Zach Ford finished the night with just two carries, but one of which went for a 66-yard TD run.
Langston Taylor picked off a South Hills pass and brought it back 70 yards, which set up the Tartans first score of the night.
Dion Skugrud recovered a fumble and Jackson Zubo recovered a muffed punt by South Hills in the end zone for a GHS touchdown.
Jack Norell capped the GHS scoring with a 42-yard field goal.
It should be mentioned that Glendora’s defense doesn’t get a fraction of the credit they deserve.
GHS defensive coordinator Tyler Perri deserves a raise after the Tartans D allowed just over seven points per game.
A huge thanks to Zack Morton for the game info and photo.
