Football:
What makes Pasadena such a difficult team to beat, and the reason they’re considered the frontrunner to win the Pacific League, is their versatility.
Kaden Taylor has led the Bulldogs with his arm and legs through the first seven games of the 2021 season.
But when the game plan calls for a strong effort from the running game, PHS can do that as well.
In Thursday’s 42-26 victory over Burbank, the Bulldogs rushed for 391 yards on 45 carries, and that included three TD runs.
Ahmad Jolley led the way with 184 yards on 21 carries, and one score.
Daylon Beasley scored a TD and rushed for 107 yards on 10 carries.
Taylor completed 8 of his 14 pass attempts for 114 yards and three TD’s.
Taylor also rushed for 65 yards and one TD.
Jamir Allen and Jason Sanford both had 34-yard TD receptions.
Beasley also had a receiving TD catch for the Bulldogs and led the PHS defense with eight tackles.
Sanford tallied seven tackles.
Jamir Mitchell and Jasun Ridley both had one sack apiece in the win.
Cameron Mitchell picked off two Burbank passes.
Up next: PHS will travel to Burroughs on Friday.
