Football:
Village Christian entered Friday’s Olympic League opener at Maranatha the heavy favorites over the young and undersized Minutemen.
And the Crusaders looked every bit a 5-0 program, defeating Maranatha, 61-0.
Nate Bennett is having one heck of a sophomore season.
Bennett went 17 of 19 for 306 yards and threw four TD passes in the win.
Bennett hit Ryan Dellutri on TD passes of 3 and 60 yards, a 13-yard score to Sam Faulkner and a 10-yard TD to Evan Clarizio.
The Crusaders’ sophomore also scored on a 3-yard run to make it five for the night.
