Softball:
Glendora got two second-inning runs and defeated Los Altos, 3-1, in Thursday’s first round of the CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs.
Marissa Duarte, Bridget Nemeth and Ashley Hibbard would all do their part in the circle for GHS.
Hibbard and Nemeth went two scoreless innings apiece and Duarte allowed one run on one hit over her three innings of work.
Offensively, the Tartans got a solo home run from sophomore Mackenna Coleman.
Bridget Nemeth singled, doubled and drove in a run.
Alicia Garcia and Mackenna Mackie scored one run each.
Allison Winovitch had an RBI double.
Up next: Glendora will host Upland (21-3) on Saturday at 3:15.
The Highlanders defeated Yucaipa, 5-3, in their first-round game.
