Baseball:

Pasadena secured what has to be described as its signature victory of the 2026 season on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs four wins heading into Wednesday’s showdown at La Salle came over Temple City, Burbank (twice) and Glendale, who have a combined record of 9-41.

La Salle has five more wins than TCHS, BHS and GHS combined.

And the Lancers are currently ranked No. 89 in the state by MaxPreps.

That’s 665 spots higher than Pasadena.

But that didn’t seem to intimidate Dylan Derosier and his boys.

Derosier went the distance in a 6-4 nonleague victory.

He was charged with three earned runs on six hits.

Derosier walked three and struck out four La Salle batters.

Fifty-nine of his 100 pitches were strikes.

Chris Cardenas accounted for half of the Lancers offense.

He went 3-for-4 with a double and one run scored.

Andrew Klein walked, had a pair of singles, scored and drove in two runs.

Travis Ochoa doubled, scored and drove in a run on a sac fly.

Andrew Luna went three innings for La Salle, and he surrendered three runs (one earned) on one hit and five walks.

Luna registered five strikeouts.

David Eriksson was charged with three runs (two earned) on three hits and a walk over two innings of work.

Julio Barrera provided two scoreless innings in relief, and struck out one PHS batter.

Harrison Gwaltney singled and scored.

Reese Kim singled twice and scored.

Derosier helped his own cause with a walk, run and an RBI single in the fourth that gave Pasadena a 4-0 lead.

Maximus Reynolds drew three walks and scored.

Aaron Martinez went 2-for-2 with a walk, run and one RBI.

Jayden Mendoza walked, scored and had one RBI.

Ryan Chen had one RBI in the win.

Up next: PHS hosts Glendale on Friday at 3:45, and LSHS welcomes Alhambra on Thursday at 3:30.
