Alta Loma Goes on a 25-10 Run in Fourth Quarter to Defeat Ayala 65-56 in Second Round of CIF-SS Division 3 Playoffs

Boys Hoops:

Alta Loma has earned a spot in the quarterfinal round of the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs.

And the Lions did that by starting and finishing strong.

ALHS secured a 65-56 victory at Ayala thanks to a 43-19 advantage in the first and fourth quarters.

Caleb Palmer scored 20 of his 22 points in the second half, including 13 in the final eight minutes.

Tahlor Fairley added 16 points, five of which came in the fourth period.

Evan Floyd chipped in with 12 points in the win.

Ayala, the Palomares League co-champs with Bonita, had a 7-4 edge in 3-pointers.

And the Bulldogs outscored the Lions, 37-22, in the second and third quarters.

Brenden White led AHS with 15 points.

Milo Tun hit a game-high four 3-pointrs, and he finished with 14 points.

Joshua Townsell (8) and Paul Christian (7) combined for 15 points in the loss.

Up next: The Lions will battle Aliso Niguel on Tuesday.

The Wolverines secured an 87-73 victory over their visitors from Glendora.
