Flag Football:
Glendora came into Saturday’s nonleague contest with their visitors from Monrovia in a foul mood.
The Tartans opened Palomares League play with a 14-13 loss at Claremont, as the Wolfpack scored late to send GHS home with the L.
And they followed that by being on the wrong side of a 27-6 decision at Bonita some three days later.
Things didn’t look much better on Saturday, as Monrovia took a 6-0 lead into the break.
But whatever Coach Greg Bidoli said at halftime must have worked, because Glendora claimed a 19-6 victory.
Hailey Travisano carried the ball six times for 92 yards, including one TD.
She also caught a pair of passes for 40 yards and one score.
Ronnie (Reagan) Hermann had four flag pulls and a pick-six on defense.
Herrmann also caught three passes for 48 yards.
Sofia Freking provided five tackles for the GHS defense.
Olivia Martin batted away three passes and picked a pass in the win.
Morgan Anderson finished with a pair of sacks.
Stella Silva contributed three big-yardage punt returns that helped the offense.
Maddie Finkbiner had a pick for the GHS.
Up next: The Tartans will resume Palomares League play on Monday, as they host Ayala at Pompei Memorial Park.
The game is slated for 6.
The Bulldogs (11-9, 1-1) opened league play with a 20-0 victory over visiting Bonita.
However, Claremont knocked AHS off, 12-9, this past Tuesday.

Quotable:
GHS coach, Greg Bidoli: “The girls did a nice job playing with energy in the second half to get the victory this morning. Now we need to be ready to play a very good Ayala team on Monday. We need to bring that same energy from the start of the game.”
