The Lady Eagles were dominant in Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s Mission Valley League prelims and finals at Rosemead High School.
All three of the Eagles’ singles players cruised through the first two rounds yesterday without dropping a set.
Marshall’s No. 1, Hannah Hagiwara, was the top-seeded player with an overall season win-loss record of 38-0 to date.
Their No. 2, Diana Kasabian, was the second seed with an overall win-loss record of 38-2.
Hagiwara and Kasabian faced off today in the MVL finals.
Hagiwara prevailed by scores of 6-1, 6-3.
The Eagles No. 1 doubles team of Sierra Bethelmy & Keri Santiago were the fourth-seeded team and advanced to semifinal round on Wednesday.
They fought through the competition yesterday beating a pair of teams from El Monte, 6-4, 6-1, and
7-5, 6-2, respectively.
They lost in the semifinal to the eventual doubles’ champs.
Our doubles team won their consolation match for the third-place medal by defeating a team from Rosemead by scores of 4-6, 7-5 and 10-4.
