Girls Volleyball:
Etiwanda didn’t just secure an outright Baseline League championship on Monday.
The Eagles ran away with it.
EHS claimed a 25-19, 25-22 and 25-23 sweep at Upland.
With one league match to play, Etiwanda (9-0) leads second-place Upland (6-3) and Rancho Cucamonga (6-3) by three games each.
And the Eagles swept both the Highlanders and Cougars.
Nina Hemsley led the charge with 14 kills and 12 digs.
Lauren Furnald added 12 kills and three aces.
Saaliyah Brown (8) and Kelis Hawkins (7) combined for 15 kills.
Brooke Hansen totaled 36 assists and four aces.
And Alina Parrales provided six assists and four aces.
Freshman Janae Childs closes out the sweep with a pair of aces.
In the nine league matches, EHS won 27 of the 29 games they played.
On September 18th, CHHS took the second set (25-16) at home, and last Wednesday, RCHS edged EHS, 25-23, in the first game.
Other than that, it’s been all about the Eagles.
To add some stock to that claim, consider the following: EHS has won 11 consecutive matches and 20 of their last 21.
