Softball:
After surrendering five runs in the top of the second inning, Bonita ended the game on a 15-0 run.
The Bearcats defeated the visiting Tartans, 15-5, in six innings.
Kaitlyn Maaske started and allowed five runs (three earned) on five hits over two innings.
Maaske walked one and struck out three GHS batters.
Serenity Reyes entered the game in the third, and she didn’t allow a run or hit over the final four innings.
Reyes issued a pair of walks and fanned three.
Koa Puppe went 4-for-5 with a double, grand slam, two runs and five RBIs.
Reyes singled and hit a three-run HR.
Avery Rubalcava hit a solo HR.
Sofia Ortiz walked, singled and scored a pair of runs.
Skyy Hicks went 2-for-4 with a walk, run and two RBIs.
Madi Arzate drew a pair of walks, doubled and scored two runs.
Camryn Van Valkenburgh had an RBI double and scored.
Jaylene Garcia singled twice and scored a pair of runs.
Bonita finished second in the Palomares League and Glendora was one-game ahead of last-place Colony.
Up next: The Bearcats will get their playoff opponent on Saturday morning at 10.
