Boys Water Polo:
After a pair of lopsided setbacks to open the 2023 season, West Covina picked up victory No. 1 on Monday.
The Bulldogs finished the first and second halves with five goals apiece and cruised to a 13-5 victory over Rowland.
Matthew Munoz actually outscored Rowland, 8-5, by himself.
Matthew Vasquez chipped in with four goals and Joseph Savoy scored once for the Bulldogs.
Matthew Ugarte blocked 15 of the 20 Raiders’ shots.
Up next: The Bulldogs host Edgewood next Monday at 4.
