Girls Tennis:
It’s rare when the Claremont girls tennis program loses a regular season match.
It’s even more unusual when the Wolfpack get thumped.
But that’s what happened on Monday afternoon.
Los Osos, ranked No. 8 in Monday’s CIF-SS Division 1 poll, cruised to a 13-5 victory over the visiting Wolfpack.
Claremont’s No. 1 singles player, Sydney La, won all three of her matches by scores of 6-4, 6-1 and 6-1.
La is now 22-0 during her senior campaign.
The No. 2 and No. 3 singles players for CHS, however, went a combined 0-6, and in five of those six matches, Los Osos won by scores of 6-0.
It didn’t get any better in doubles, as the three Grizzlines’ teams went 7-2.
Up next: CHS will resume Palomares League play on Thursday at Bonita.
