College Baseball:
Pasadena City College began the 2022 season with four consecutive wins.
The Lancers would then drop their next three games.
But with Tuesday’s 8-3, ice-shortened victory in seven innings, PCC has now won two in a row.
A huge difference in the last five games is that PCC’s defense committed five errors in the three losses and none in the two wins.
Jakob Guardado went five scoreless innings to get the win on Tuesday.
Guardado surrendered three hits, walked two and struck out seven.
Mt. San Jacinto got two runs off Hayden Zweig in his 1 2/3 innings, allowing three hits, walking one and fanning four Eagles’ batters.
Jaden Jones and Jaden Pickowitz both went 3-for-3 on Tuesday.
Jones had an RBI single and his double was the only MSJ extra-base hit.
Demetrius Vizcarra went the first five innings for the Eagles, allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits.
He walked two and struck out seven PCC batters.
The Lancers got two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning off Garrett Teunissen to extend the lead to 8-0.
