College Baseball:
For the first time in 691 days, the Pasadena City College baseball team took the field on Thursday.
The Lancers spotted Citrus two second-inning runs, but three PCC pitchers would hold the Owls scoreless the rest of the way in the 8-2 victory.
Ryan Graves went the first three innings for PCC and allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit.
He didn’t walk anyone and struck out three.
Benny Olguin provided four scoreless innings of relief, and surrendered two hits, walked one and fanned three Owls’ batters.
Rider Gardner finished Citrus off with two scoreless innings, allowing two hits, no walks and two strikeouts.
Chad Green hit a two-run shot in the bottom of the second off Graves.
Kaj James got the loss after allowing three runs on two hits over his four innings of work.
James walked three and struck out five Lancers’ batters.
Aaron Juarez and Brandon Aranda both went two innings for the Owls, and they allowed two runs each (one earned run apiece).
Juarez and Aranda combined to walk two and fan three.
Isaiah Alvarez went the ninth for Citrus and allowed one run on one hit, walking three and striking out one.
Kenny Kim walked twice, hit a three-run home run and scored a pair of runs.
Former San Dimas catcher Matt Rice began his collegiate career in a big way.
Rice walked, doubled twice and scored two runs.
Max Blessinger had an RBI single in the win.
Andrew Scannell didn’t get a base hit, but he scored once and drove in another for PCC.
Former Muir football-baseball star Aryonis Harrison walked and scored.
Blake Beckley and Yuto Mimura scored once each for the Lancers.
Up next: PCC will travel to Cypress today (Friday).
