It was the final regular season home match in the careers of seniors Reggie Park and Russell Sze, so their teammates wanted to make sure that they got a win for their captains.

In their last meeting, the two teams went down to the wire, with the Minutemen prevailing, 9-9 (88-76).

Today’s matchup wasn’t nearly as suspenseful, as the Minutemen dominated from the outset, with Maranatha taking a 5-1 lead after the 1st round and a 10-2 lead after the 2nd round, ensuring the outcome, before subbing in their alternates.

The day was ultimately about Park and Sze, who made sure to do their part by sweeping their opponents at the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles positions, 6-2, 6-2, 6-0 and 6-4, 6-0, 6-2 respectively.

Both Park and Sze joined Maranatha’s tennis team as sophomores in a reserve role.

Each worked on their games and joined the starting unit as doubles players in their junior campaigns.

This season, Park moved into the singles lineup, while Sze, along with teammate, Nate Schumann, formed the top doubles team.

After the match, family and friends joined the Minutemen in honoring Park and Sze.
