Registering their fourth consecutive win, Maranatha’s singles and doubles squads have been trading places with respect to who leads the charge towards victory.

In their most complete effort of the season to date, both singles and doubles played inspired, dominant tennis, resulting in a 15-3 win over the Alhambra Moors.

It was a far cry from last season’s match between the two teams, which went down to the wire, as Cherif Sauma pulled out a 6-4 win in the day’s final set to clinch the victory, 10-8.

During the 1st round of play, the Minutemen routed the Moors to take a 6-0 advantage.

The match was decided mid-2nd round, as Maranatha won the first four sets, to clinch the 10th point.

The round ended with the Minutemen holding an insurmountable 11-1 lead.

Though the set scores look like most of the sets were cake walks, that was far from the case, as the Moors actually played good competitive tennis.

At the end of each game of nearly each set, however, the Minutemen found ways to win the game, thus contributing to the lopsided scores.

What was most impressive wasn’t the scoreline, but the eye-test.

They looked good today and were playing at a level they hadn’t yet reached this season.

They still have a way to go before reaching their best levels, but they are improving and heading in the right direction.
