Quotable:

Citrus coach, Andy Smith: “Coming off an emotional high from yesterday’s win over Cypress, it’s not uncommon for teams in that situation to come out flat the next day. But our guys did a great job of getting after it today. Another stellar outing on the mound by our staff with 0 free 90s allowed, which is a credit to our staff and particularly pitching coach Mike Moses. He has done a great job instilling the right mentality and focus on pitchability, and it’s showing up through the first five games. I loved seeing Joe Gilkeson unload on two balls to dead center today, including one that left the yard. He’s as consistent as they come in his work ethic, and he’s such an easy guy to root for.”

Citrus starting pitcher, Michael Moses: “I felt great, I was throwing all three pitches for strikes. The defense was making plays behind me and the hitters did their thing making my job really easy. I’m happy to get the win.”
