Quotable:

Claremont coach, Jake Caron: “The Sierra League is one of the toughest leagues in the area — every week you’re facing elite programs like Charter Oak and Bonita who are well-coached and loaded with talent. Last season, we learned a lot from those battles, and it’s made us a more resilient and prepared group. The losses to Bonita and Glendora were tight games at halftime, and credit to those teams for finishing strong in the second half. But that adversity has made us better — it sharpened our focus and strengthened our unity heading into Colony. Our players understood the magnitude of the moment with playoffs on the line, and I’m proud of how calm and determined they stayed. Max Leeper, Kingston Farjado, and Doug Yegge continue to make big-time plays, while Jakeb Wise and Gavin Marine have been steady forces on both sides of the ball. I’m especially proud of Carter Montgomery, who has stepped up wherever we’ve needed him — at quarterback, wide receiver, and as a leader on special teams. That kind of selflessness embodies what our team is all about.”
