Volleyball:
Etiwanda got off to a great start to the 2025 season.
The Lady Eagles went 2-0 in Division 1 at Saturday’s Tae Kim Lakewood Tournament.
In game one, EHS swept the hosts by scores of 26-24, 25-10 and 25-19.
Lauren Furnald led the way with 18 kills and 11 digs.
Nina Hemsley added 12 kills and 15 digs.
Kamryn Andrews contributed 32 Assists and 10 digs.
In the second match, Etiwanda got by Valley Christian by scores of 20-25, 25-23, 25-14 and 27-25.
Lauren Furnald provided 20 kills and seven digs.
Nina Hemsley finished with 15 kills and eight digs.
Kamryn Andrews chipped in with 31 assists and 10 digs.
Mya Yaisrael had six kills to go with 10 digs and four aces.
Saaliyah Brown added four kills, and Olivia Zaijcek totaled 10 digs.
It earned the Eagles a spot in next Saturday’s semifinal round against Harvard Westlake.
But before that showdown, EHS will host Roosevelt on Tuesday evening at 5.
