Softball:
La Salle won its ninth consecutive game on Thursday.
And for more important than that, the Lancers opened the CIF-SS Division 6 playoffs with a 6-1 victory over Oxford Academy.
Havana Pagan went the distance, allowing an unearned run on four hits.
Pagan issued two walks and registered six strikeouts.
Xiomara Martinez walked, singled and scored.
Emily Ganguly doubled.
Mia Sierra and Kahu Gupta had one single apiece to account for the rest of the OAHS offense.
Ganguly went six innings, and she surrendered six runs (two earned) on seven hits.
Ganguly did not give a free pass, and she struck out three.
Aria Davis went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI double.
Jadelyn Sherman singled, scored and had an RBI double.
Jadyn Shaver singled and scored.
Barbie Solis and Layla Loya had one single apiece.
Kaeley Aldana scored and drove in a run on a sac fly.
Jessica Young scored one run.
