Softball:
La Salle enters the final game of the 2025 regular season on a seven-game win streak.
The only thing standing between themselves and a 13-game streak is Sacred Heart of Jesus.
SHJ edged the visiting Lancers, 4-3, back on April 3rd in eight innings.
La Salle hosted those same Comets on Friday with some added interest in defeating their visitors from Los Angeles.
With two games to play, the Lancers trailed Sacred Heart by one game atop the Santa Fe League standings.
Havana Pagan took all the drama out of Friday’s showdown by tossing a four-hit shutout in La Salle’s 6-0 victory over the Comets.
Pagan issued one walk and registered five strikeouts.
Alina Valenzuela had half of Sacred Heart’s four hits.
Genevee Hernandez and Trinity Godson had one single apiece to account for the rest of the Comets offense.
Alina Valenzuela got the loss after getting roughed up for six runs on 13 hits and one walk over six innings.
The Lancers had a 13-4 advantage in base hits, including a 5-0 edge in extra-base hits.
And all nine La Salle starters had at least one base hit.
Aria Davis went 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs and an RBI.
Pagan singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs to help her own cause.
Layla Loya singled, doubled and scored.
Jadyn Shaver went 2-for-3 with a double, run and one RBI.
Natalia Nolasco doubled, scored and drove in one run.
Barbie Solis, Jessica Young and Kaeley Aldana had one single apiece.
Jadelyn Sherman doubled in a run and scored.
Up next: The Lancers close out the regular season hosting St. Genevieve on Tuesday at 3:15.
