Nico Armendariz Goes Distance, Allowing Two Runs & Striking Out Four in La Salle’s 5-2 Nonleague Victory Over Loyola

La Salle secured an impressive 5-2 nonleague victory over Loyola on Monday.

The Cubs are positioned 58 spots ahead (95-37) in the MaxPreps state rankings.

Nico Armendariz went the distance, allowing two runs on eight hits.

Armendariz issued one walk and fanned four LHS batters.

He needed 96 pitches to finish what he started.

Brandon Bendel singled twice and scored.

David Bender singled and scored.

Wyatt Clougherty had an RBI single.

Jack Murray walked and singled.

Walter Urbon singled and drove in a run on a sac fly.

James Dell’Amico and Robert Rapp had one hit apiece for the Cubs.

Robbie O’Rourke got the loss after going 2 2/3 innings, and he allowed three runs (one earned) on four hits.

O’Rourke didn’t issue a walk, and he struck out one Lancer.

Andrew Klein went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and one RBI.

Frane Flores singled and scored.

Drew Ward went 2-for-3 with an RBI single in the bottom of the first to give the Lancers a 1-0 lead.

Chris Cardenas walked, had an RBI single and scored.

Isaiah Romero had an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to give Armendariz an insurance run.

Romero also scored once.

Peter Callihan singled in Tuesday’s win.

Up next: The Lancers have the next eight days off, and then they travel to Notre Dame on April 24th.
