Damien secured a Baseline League opening series victory over Etiwanda, 2-1.
After both the Spartans and Eagles held serve at home, they met up Saturday at LoanMart Field in Rancho Cucamonga.
DHS led 5-0 after three innings, and they cruised to a 5-2 victory.
Russell Del Castillo went five innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits to earn the win.
Del Castillo walked one and struck out three EHS batters.
Ryan Wentworth got the final six outs without any damage.
Wentworth allowed two hits and struck out one.
Ryan Severns went 2-for-2 with a walk, run and RBI double.
Angel Mejia had an RBI single.
Josh Adams and Derick Kim singled once each for the Eagles.
James Milam scored one run.
Jack Holguin was charged with two runs on one hit and three walks over 1/3 of an inning.
Nico Hamilton went the final 5 2/3 innings, and he surrendered three runs (one earned) on eight hits.
Hamilton issued one walk and registered six strikeouts.
