Baseball:

Monrovia retained its share of the Rio Hondo League’s top spot (with La Canada) after its 6-3 victory at Temple City.

The Wildcats extended their current win streak to eight games.

James Quesenbery was credited with the win after going 4 1/3 innings and allowing three runs on five hits.

Quesenbery walked one and fanned three.

Maddox Morales went 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief and allowing just one hit.

He issued one walk and registered three strikeouts.

Sutton Powers got the final three outs without allowing a run or hit.

Josh Jones walked, singled, doubled and scored.

Nicholas Palomo went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning.

Parker Thomas singled and scored.

Brendan Ortiz and Sebastian Esparza had one single apiece, and Peyton Navarat scored once for the Rams.

Tyler Womack was charged with three runs (one earned) on three hits over three innings.

Womack walked four and struck out two MHS batters.

Monrovia touched up Brendan Ortiz for three runs on three hits and three walks over 2 2/3 innings.

Ortiz struck out one.

Kaleb Ellison went 2-for-4 with a run and one RBI.

Braydon Blackmore and Micah Maljian walked, singled and scored one run apiece.

Sully Zinn went 1-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.

Isaias Hernandez drew a pair of walks, singled twice and drove in one run.

Josh Griffiths walked twice, singled and scored a pair of runs.

Tristan Oandasan drove in a run on a sac fly.

Troy Grise drew a bases loaded walk.
