Baseball:
You couldn’t blame Don Furnald and his players if they were a little frustrated.
The Eagles opened the Baseline League portion of their schedule having lost three of their first four games.
EHS would take out that frustration on Chino Hills on Wednesday afternoon.
Etiwanda jumped on EHS early, and Michael Aleman did the rest in a 13-0 thumping.
The Eagles out-hit the Huskies, 12-4, including a 5-0 advantage in extra-base hits.
Aleman tossed a four-hit shutout.
He didn’t issue a walk and registered five strikeouts.
Aleman was efficient, needing just 73 pitches to finish what he started.
Brody Buoncristiani, Josh Mendez, Branden Kim and Matt Mendez had one single apiece to account for the CHHS offense.
Matt Tejada was charged with the loss.
Tejada surrendered five runs on five hits in one-plus inning.
He didn’t walk a batter and got one on strikes.
Max Zaldivar was touched up for five runs on four hits over 3 1/3 innings.
Zalivar walked a pair of and fanned four EHS batters.
Noah Resendez went one inning, and he allowed three runs on three hits and a walk.
Jaeden Toki went 2-for-3, including two runs and a two-run HR.
Derick Kim had a two-run double, and he finished with three RBIs.
Ryan Severns went 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs, a two-run double and three total RBIs.
Angel Mejia had an RBI triple.
LJ Roellig tripled and scored a pair of runs.
Luke Severns and Justin Jackson walked and scored one run apiece.
Noah Frias drew a bases loaded walk.
James Milam scored and had one RBI.
Dominic Rodriguez had an RBI single in the sixth.
Jaxson Milius scored and Thomas Sanchez singled.
Jack Holguin and Josh Adams singled and scored one run apiece.
