Boys Basketball:
Chino Hills got out to quick lead at Friday’s Damien Classic.
The Huskies would hold off Bonita, 61-54, at BHS.
Joaquin Tovera led all scorers with 23 points.
Jaden Gamez chipped in with 12 points and Alex Criner had 8.
Bonita’s Hunter Smith hit a game-high four 3-pointers, and he finished with 22 points.
James Kim scored 13 points, including a pair of 3’s, while Sam Kolody and Andrew Sanchez provided six points apiece.
Up next: The Huskies take on Alta Loma (12-1) tonight (Saturday) at 8:30.
And the Bearcats will battle Shadow Hills (7-7) at 4.
